The Branch covers the Metropolitan areas of Rochdale, Oldham and Bury, and is one of 8 within the CAMRA Greater Manchester Region covering the Greater Manchester area. About the Branch. As a Branch we tend to use Rochdale as the administrative centre of the Branch as it is reasonably easy to get to by public transport from most of the areas across the Branch. This is why all of our Branch meetings are currently held in The Baum, Rochdale.

ROB Electronic pubs guide

This Branch has many hundreds of pubs and we are trying to get our electronic pubs guide up to date so that any visitor will be able to check out and visit any of our pubs. To do this, though, we need your help. We have a Pub Survey Form that you can download and provide as much, or even, as little, information that you can. You can also fill it out electronically and send it to our pub's Officer Bernie Jackson @ moc.dlrowltn@namnoiskca

Branch Pub Of The Year

The Branch Pub Of The Year for 2011 is the Hare & Hounds Holcome Brook. This prestigious award is given to the pub that the branch feels has been truly outstanding during the previous 12 months. Given the scope of the branch and the number of contenders, winning it is no mean feat. The 2011 recipient is the Hare & Hounds at Holcombe Brook, Bury. Situated at the junction of Bolton Road West and Longsight Road, it has been ably overseen (with a brief hiatus) by Andy & Lynn for some 12 years. On a lovely July night, the Branch gathered to present Andy with his award and enjoy his fine beer. The photo shows Branch Chairman Peter Alexander presenting a framed certificate to Andy Grant the licensee on the evening of 30th June. A fine time was had by all!

The Hare and Hounds was automatically entered into the Regional POTY and the winner has been announced as The Magnet, Stockport. The other Regional winners are here National Pub Of The Year 2011 - Regional winners

Notifications

The Membership Secretary welcomes new members to the branch when they join CAMRA, but then we only write to branch members who have not supplied a current e mail address, however due to the costs and time involved this only happens infrequently. If you have an e mail address and would like to be updated on a regular basis please tell us what it is! Branch members that supply an email address receive a monthly newsletter "CAMRA Calling" with up to the minute news from the branch, as well as reminders about meetings and socials. If you used to get these and have stopped getting them maybe that's because you have changed your e mail address and not told us? If so please contact Branch Membership Secretary.

In addition any Branch member can join our ROB CAMRA Yahoo Group - we use this to communicate information to the members and it really is a useful tool. Please sign up to it, it really is simple!

Please join our ROB CAMRA Yahoo Group, which provides regular updates on other events taking place in the branch area.
